Alpine Skiing in Trysil
Trysil features around 70 slopes and 43 lifts, including six children’s lifts and three large family areas. The terrain is well-suited for all levels, from beginners to experienced skiers, with plenty of wide, groomed trails and challenging sections higher up.
Ski school: Professional instruction is offered for all ages. Valle’s Ski School focuses on children ages 3 to 9, offering ski lessons through play and storytelling. Private lessons are also available in alpine skiing, snowboarding, telemark, and adaptive skiing.
Night skiing: Selected slopes are open after dark, offering a unique skiing experience under floodlights.
New gondola: A new high-capacity gondola is set to open, transporting up to 3000 guests per hour from the children’s area to the mountain top.
Cross-country Skiing Trysil offers an extensive network of more than 500 km of well-prepared cross-country trails, both in the mountains and in the forest, suitable for the entire family. The cross-country season in Trysil starts early, with at least 5 km of groomed tracks available at Trysilfjellet Arena from October 31st, using snow stored from the previous winter. Recommended starting points for cross-country tours include Skihytta and Fageråsen. These locations offer wide tracks suitable for both skating and classic techniques.

Ski rental: Ski equipment can be rented from several shops in the area, including Trysil Skishop, located just before Turistsenteret. Online pre-booking is recommended for best pricing and availability. Rental is also available at the base areas of the slopes.

Parking Trysil has several centrally located parking stations on both sides of Trysilfjellet and in Trysil center.
Camera Solution: Parking uses a camera solution with license plate recognition.
Payment: Payment can be made automatically via registered card on autopay.io or through onsite machines.
Free Parking Options: ◦ P8 at Turistsenteret offers free parking from May 1st to November 30th. ◦ P6 at SkiStar Lodge Trysil is always free. ◦ P1, P2, P3, P8, and P9 at Turistsenteret offer free parking for holders of SkiStar All Winter, SkiStar All Summer, and SkiStar All Year season passes.
Short-term Parking: ◦ P7 and P6 allow up to 1 hour of free short-term parking, with a fee of 25 NOK per hour thereafter.
P-HOUSE (P5): Costs 30 NOK per hour.
SkiStar Lodge Trysil: Offers 2 hours of free parking in areas P1, P2, P3, P4, and P5, followed by a charge of 50 NOK per 24 hours.

Waste Disposal and Recycling
In the main centers and large cabin areas around Trysilfjellet, source sorting has been implemented using molock systems.
Around the municipal building (kommunehuset) in Innbygda, Trysil municipality has introduced source sorting and molock stations.
Throughout Trysilfjellet and in the center (Innbygda), there are trash bins designed for four fractions that are reported to function well.
Trysil also has a recycling station and a reuse center (Gjenvinningsstasjon og gjenbrukstorg). Trysil is responsible for facilitating environmental stations with good sorting options.

Grocery Stores
There are multiple grocery stores throughout Trysil. The largest are Rema 1000 Trysilfjellet (near Turistsenteret) and Kiwi Trysilfjellet. These stores offer all standard groceries and are open throughout the winter season.
Winter Driving Conditions Winter roads in the region are well-maintained, but weather can change quickly. Winter tires are required by law, and snow chains are recommended to bring. Always check the forecast and road updates before traveling.
Ski Bus in Trysil Trysil offers a free ski bus service that operates daily during the winter season. The bus connects all major accommodation areas with the ski resort’s four base areas:

How to Get to Trysil from Oslo Trysil is easily accessible from Oslo by various transport methods:
By Car: Trysil is located approximately 2.5 hours (210 km) northeast of Oslo. The roads are good and easy to navigate. Follow E6 to Rv3 and Rv25 towards Trysil.
By Bus: Trysilekspressen (NW130): This NOR-WAY Bussekspress route operates between Oslo and Trysil, with a total travel time of approximately 3 hours. Pick-up points include Oslo Bus Terminal and Oslo Airport Gardermoen, with several stops along the way. In Trysil, the bus makes multiple stops, including the Turistsenteret, Radisson Blu Resort, SkiStar Lodge, Trysil Høyfjellssenter, and Trysil Skysstasjon during the winter season. Advance booking is advised in winter as buses can be fully booked.
By Train: The nearest train station is Elverum, approximately 70 km from Trysil. From Elverum, you can take a bus connection to Trysil. The train journey to Elverum from Oslo takes about 2 hours.
By Plane: Oslo Airport Gardermoen (OSL): Located about 2 hours (160 km) by road from Trysil. From Gardermoen, you can take the Trysilekspressen bus, which has several daily departures and takes just under three hours. At the airport you can rent cars.
