Summer activities and outdoor experiences
Mountain biking
Trysil is considered Norway’s leading destination for trail cycling, and offers 100 km of natural trails, with a wide selection of trails and family-friendly terrain. At Trysil Bike Arena, you’ll find:

Tree-top climbing and zipline
At the Høyt & Lavt Trysil climbing park, families and adventurers can enjoy 9 trails and 10 ziplines of varying difficulty levels. The park is located by the Tourist Centre and is open during the summer season. Pre-booking is recommended.
Golf
Trysilfjellet Golf Course is an 18-hole forest and mountain course located near the Tourist Centre. It’s considered one of Norway’s most scenic golf courses and is suitable for both beginners and experienced players. Equipment rental and lessons are available on-site.
Stolpejakten
Explore Trysil while participating in Stolpejakten, a fun and active way to discover the area. This activity involves finding numbered poles placed throughout the landscape using a printed map or app. The poles are accessible for both hikers and bikers and come in varying difficulty levels.
Swimming and lakeside relaxation
Popular bathing spots include Sennsjøen and Rysktjern, both offering jetties, grassy areas, and calm water perfect for a refreshing swim or picnic with the family.
Fishing
Trysil offers excellent freshwater fishing opportunities in lakes and rivers. Common species include trout, grayling, and perch. A valid fishing license is required and can be purchased locally or online. Both fly fishing and traditional rod fishing are popular, especially in the Trysilelva River and nearby lakes such as Engeren and Sennsjøen.
Rafting
Organized rafting trips are available with SkiStar Trysil and take place on selected stretches of the Trysilelva River. Trips are suitable for both beginners and thrill-seekers and include all necessary equipment and guides.

Canoeing
Canoes can be rented at Trysil Hyttegrend & Camping, located just south of the town center. From there, you can paddle along the Trysilelva River on calm, family-friendly routes. The canoe trips are well suited for beginners and offer a peaceful way to experience nature.
Stand-up Paddleboarding (SUP)
SUP boards can be rented from Villa Fregn, with access to calm water stretches ideal for first-timers or relaxing paddling. Guided SUP tours are also occasionally available.
Eventyrparken
Right next to the Radisson Blu Resort, Eventyrparken is a summer favourite for active families. Here, kids (and adventurous adults) can try the Mountain Coaster, glide down the Mountain Tube, race electric mini go-karts, or enjoy beginner-friendly trail cycling.
Discgolf at Fulufjellet
Fulufjellet Café and Discgolf Center offer indoor space for food, games and a break between rounds. The disc golf course includes rental discs and an easy introduction for newcomers.

Bowling and Game Zone
At the Radisson Blu Resort, you’ll also find a bowling alley with several lanes and a gaming arcade featuring air hockey, pool tables, and video games – great fun for both adults and children.
Kulpen Spa
For those seeking relaxation, Kulpen Spa offers indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs, and four different types of saunas. Treatments and massages are available upon reservation. Located next to the Tourist Centre, it’s ideal after a long hike or bike ride.

By Car
Most visitors arrive by car, and the drive to Trysil is scenic and straightforward. From Oslo, it takes about 2.5 to 3 hours (210 km), with well-maintained roads leading you through beautiful forest and mountain landscapes. Free and paid parking is available throughout Trysil, including EV charging stations at key locations such as Trysilsenteret shopping centre.
By Bus
The Trysilekspressen bus service runs daily from Oslo and Oslo Airport Gardermoen to Trysil. It’s a comfortable and direct option, especially for those travelling without a car. Tickets can be booked in advance online.
By Plane
The nearest international airport is Oslo Gardermoen (OSL), which offers direct connections to major European cities. From the airport, Trysil is a 2.5-hour drive or bus ride away. Car rentals are available at the airport for those who wish to explore the region more freely.
