Description

Welcome to Birkebeinerbakken on Sjusjøen!
This is an area on Sjusjøen that consists almost exclusively of high-standard cabins, and has the Birkebeiner track practically right outside the door, both the Cycling and Ski Birken. The cabin offers a lubrication profile for perfect gliding and lubrication of the skis, as well as a sauna for recovery when you return from the trip.

The location is almost at the very top of the Birkebeinerbakken (Birkebeinerbakken Panorama), which means you can put on your ski equipment in the cabin and go straight out to the famous slopes on Lake Sjusjøen. This area is known for its magnificent newly prepared ski runs, and in winter the run passes about 200 meters from the cabin. It brings you out on more than 350 km of newly groomed trails around the trail network in Ringsakerfjellet, Lillehammer and Øyerfjellet.
Alpine slopes can be found at Hafjell (about 40 minutes' drive), or Sjusjøen (about 15 minutes' drive).

Sjusjøen has a large grocery store, sports shop and several cafés and restaurants. Now you can also have food delivered from Lillehammer with Drone!

In summer, this is a perfect starting point for long mountain tours in the area on foot or by bike. The trail cycling network on Ringsaks and Øyerfjellet is fantastic. The road network for regular mountain biking with or without electric propulsion is also extensive. The summer also offers many good activities for children, such as horse riding, playgrounds, swimming, and this is a good starting point if you are planning a trip to Hunderfossen family park, or Lilleputthammer playground.
There are very good fishing opportunities in the area, in Sjusjøvannet large Pike have been caught in recent years, but in other nearby rivers and waters you can catch nice Trout.

The cabin was built in 2017 and invites you to total relaxation and coziness when you are back from the day's activities.
Contains a large living room with a comfortable sofa and chairs, a modern wood-burning stove, a dining room that seats 9 at the dining table at the same time, and a well-equipped large kitchen.
Furthermore, the cabin has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms as well as a loft.

Recommends a mountain trip on foot up to Lunkefjell, which is located at an altitude of approx. 1000 metres. Can be reached starting from the cabin. Here you have beautiful views in all directions. And feel free to take a break at Store Lunken, here it is idyllic and with the shallow water, the bathing temperatures are surprisingly good here.
Here you can also catch nice trout, as in many other nearby waters.


NB! Please note that bed linen/towels are not included in the price. So you should take it with you, otherwise it is possible to borrow it for NOK 250 per set. Please let us know about it. Cleaning is included in the total rental price, but you must prepare the place for cleaning according to additional instructions.
p.s. When you book an Easter holiday, the rule is that you can book from Friday to Wednesday or from Wednesday to Monday or the entire period.
